Life is a Cabaret — Welcome to mine!
Welcome, everyone, to my dance class challenge blog. And when I say everyone, I mean everyone.
This Wednesday, I found out that my dance instructor has discovered my blog ( :O! ) and has been reading my entries ( :O!! ) — “some of the good ones and some of the nastier ones,” as he describes them.
I found out while I was practicing a new dance move during my Salsa Level 3 class:
Diego: “You’re probably going to put this in your blog, but… (blahblahblah)”
I knew he would eventually find it, but I guess that I half-hoped that no one at my dance studio would find my blog unless I made a point of sharing it with them. There’s something inherently cringe-inducing about having someone so directly tied to your blog entries reading them. It’s like having your parents read your diary.
I think it’s really cool of Diego to be able to still critique my dancing even after reading. I don’t know about you, but I’d much rather have my teachers continue to give me honest feedback about my dancing than to hold back their comments in the fear that I might say something that makes them look bad.
With my teacher having access to my innermost thoughts about my dance experience, I really have no reason to care who else is listening in.
So, that being said, HOWDY AND WELCOME, EVERYONE — be you one of my dance teachers, a Grupo America dancer, a fellow dance student, a friend, relative, or acquaintance, or a fellow aspiring-to-resemble-a-dancer stranger.
Join my journey, and, if you’re following my blog, please do drop me a line to let me know what you think. I’d love to know that someone is actually reading this thing!
